Rain is Clearly Carbon Neutral Water
Posted on Thursday July 29, 2010
When we talk about rainwater harvesting at conferences and meetings we always highlight the advantages of Rain over municipal water . The obvious point is that it is free. We also talk about how it is fresh and better for your plants because it has no calcium (aka hard water) which can ruin soil over time. But there is another important benefit which becomes quickly apparent with our solution- it is delivered right to your doorstep courtesy of Mother Nature. Half the cost of a municipal water supply is in the power required to pump water to customers . In other words, municipal water has a massive carbon footprint. Rainwater on the other hand, is carbon neutral, as long as it is used where it is no collected with no pumping. RainSaucers makes this possible because our solution is roof-independent and can be located anyhwere the rainwater needs to be deployed.
